Marriage is a gift from God, a lifelong commitment of mutual love and one of the greatest joys of life.
Currently a quarter of all marriages in England between a man and a woman take place in the traditional setting of a Church of England church. We would love to help you plan both for your wedding day and for your life together.
Marriage at John Keble
You can get married at John Keble through the below qualifying criteria;
§ resident within the parish boundary
§ either or both of you were baptised here;
§ either or both of you have previously lived within the parish;
§ either or both of you have been regularly worshipping here for six months or more;
§ the parents of either of you were married here, or lived within the parish, or attended public worship here for at least six months.
Residence
First check whether you live in the parish, this is the easiest route to getting married here; this applies to either bride or groom individually. If you check on the following website you can see if your home address lies within our parish https://www.achurchnearyou.com/
Electoral Roll
This is the membership list of the church congregation (not to be confused with the parliamentary electoral roll). Being on the Electoral Roll means you are a regular member of the worshipping community (for at least six months) and we have had a really good opportunity to get to know you.
Re-marriage after divorce or Services of Dedication following Civil Marriage
We are very happy to discuss these particular circumstances with you.
Please ensure you confirm your qualification for a wedding before booking a wedding reception as this can lead to disappointment.
If you have any further questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.
