Our Vicar
Read below to find our more about our new vicar the Rev’d Andrew Wickens
Andrew was born in Camberwell, south of the river, and spent most of his childhood in Sutton, Surrey, where his father was associate vicar. He studied at Oxford where he met his wife, Caroline. He taught physics for three years (everything from A level to wiring a plug) before training together with Caroline for ministry at Queen’s College, Birmingham, an ecumenical college training Anglicans and Methodists together (Caroline is a minister in the Methodist Church).
Following ordination Andrew remained in the city of Birmingham before a period of service with the churches in Zambia and Kenya from 1997 to 2005. On return to the UK, Andrew has served in a variety of posts, often with a focus on education and interfaith relations in the dioceses of Worcester, Lichfield and Oxford before coming to Mill Hill.
Andrew’s hobbies include walking and cycling as well as visiting cultural sites in the city.
